Name Tag These Dental Name Badges Are Fun!
Unique dental name badges or name tags are "smile makers," as my dental receptionist said to me recently. Think how many people approach the dental chair with an air of fear or downright loathing. What if you could take their attention off the upcoming procedure, even for a little while with a whimsical name badge?
As children, our relationship to our teeth centered mostly around losing them, and visits from the tooth fairy with the inevitable quarter under the pillow. What a fun concept! Only after a few uncomfortable experiences at the dentist's office does the attitude start to shift a bit. Sometimes we just put off that cleaning for a few months too long. Then there's the guilt when we finally do make it to our dentist's office, months or even years of neglect obvious with the plaque build-up on our teeth.
If you are a dentist or hygienist, you probably know what I'm talking about.
What if you could diffuse the tension a bit by making your patient smile? Is that even possible? Yes, I think so! And here's how:
o Wear a name tag with a smiling tooth or a tooth fairy next to your name!
o Thank your patient for coming, no matter how long it's been.
o Ask them about their life (How's the new grandbaby, and so on)
It's probably obvious, but you want to make it "safe" for them to come back, and not have them leave feeling embarrassed and miserable. Adding a little fun to their clinic visit with a smiling tooth name badge might make it a memorable (and not in a bad way) experience. Give them something to comment on while they are there, and leave them smiling with the memory of a whimsical tooth fairy smiling down at them.
There are some other advantages to these clever name tags:
o The backs are magnetic (or, if you prefer, they can have a pin back)
o The attached designs are made from fine (lead-free) pewter
o The plates are metal (either stainless steel or brass) for longer lasting use
o They're fun to wear!
And that last point has special significance if you happen to be the owner of the practice. In the past, you may have found it difficult to encourage your employees to wear their name badges. Statistically speaking, creative name badges like these tend to be worn and have a much longer "life span." Think of them more as jewelry than name badges, and you'll get the idea.
Some dental practices tend to offer their long-time employees a custom name badge as a reward for production. Now that is a great idea!
